Alumni Feature: Fallon Scanlan

FOCUS Missionaries to Begin Collaboration with Campus Ministry - Assumption UniversityFallon Scanlan is a FOCUS missionary who graduated from IMF in May 2024. Through the IMF, she studied Spiritual Direction and now practices spiritual direction in Colorado. Originally born in Texas, Fallon grew up in New Mexico. In college, FOCUS impacted her greatly, and she became a FOCUS missionary after graduating. She served four years as a missionary at Texas A&M.

Additionally, she served four years as a Regional Director for seven college campuses in the East, and now serves as a leader of the FOCUS Employee Relations Team. She is single, enjoys aunt life, and embraces time she has in the mountains.

Fallon heard about the IMF from her employer, FOCUS, which she has worked with for 10 years. She’s loved the chance to lean more into her “small v” vocation she has as a spiritual director. In her words, “IMF has helped me embrace more of the call God has for me in this season of my life as a spiritual mother.” To learn more about the Spiritual Direction program at the IMF, click here.

She enjoyed the courses offered by the IMF on prayer, especially the progression of the interior life according to the Carmelites. For many years, Fallon has had a fondness for the Carmelites and their spirituality. She finds it helpful to read about topics encouraging endurance and perseverance in the journey of the interior life, particularly through crosses and trials. She has also appreciated taking classes through the Avila institute. Here at the IMF we’re grateful to have had Fallon as a student. Thank you, Fallon!
