Jocelyn Perez graduated from the IMF’s Spiritual Direction program in 2023. She heard about the program through FOCUS, She finished the FOCUS program in 2020 and started working with campus ministry in Texas. She has been on mission there for the past four years. On campus, she has the opportunity to walk with college women discerning their vocation and learning how to pray.
She practices what she learned with the IMF in a very real way when she accompanies students to help them overcome barriers to leadership. Jocelyn even felt accompanied as a student at the IMF, which was a unique experience for her. In the Principles of Prayer class with Fr. Boniface, the topics discussed reminded her of pivotal experiences in her own prayer life. The classes on prayer were the most impactful for Jocelyn, as they gave her practical tools to accompany using scripture.
Jocelyn recommends that the IMF students take advantage of discussions with classmates and peers. She learned a lot from reading responses from fellow classmates. “I am personally really grateful. I had been personally seeking Spiritual Direction formation for a year, a year and a half. With personal availability and job commitments it was hard to find a program to fit into my season of life, but the time and cost of IMF’s program was perfect for my life.”
At the IMF, we are glad to have had Jocelyn as a student. Thank you, Jocelyn, for your wonderful testimony!
