SD1: Art of Accompaniment Course Held in Wichita, Kansas

Twelve students recently participated in the IMF’s SD1: Art of Accompaniment course, held at the Spiritual Life Center in Wichita, Kansas. The course provided students with the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the interior life and dynamics of spiritual growth, as well as learn the art of listening to others with an open and vulnerable heart.

The course, which was an IMF-registered course, was  taught by Fr. Boniface, who expressed his gratitude for the experience:

“Our SD1: Art of Accompaniment course, held at the Spiritual Life Center in Wichita was a real grace for me. Though small in number, the students were deep in faith and we had a week of formation, prayer, self-discovery and healing. The course itself was an experience of accompaniment as students opened up in trust for me and for each other and we were able to share our interior life in various ways. I was excited to bring our IMF treasures to the midwest and delighted to work together with the staff of the Spiritual Life Center to make that happen.”

One of the students, Deacon Robert Falke, enjoyed Fr. Boniface’s teaching style, saying, “Fr. Boniface approaches spiritual direction from a very human perspective, making complex concepts accessible and understandable. Completing a semester’s worth of material in one week was challenging, but his teaching made it manageable.  I will be continuing the program in hopes of completing a certificate in spiritual direction.

The SD1: Art of Accompaniment course can be taken on its own or as a foundational part of the IMF’s spiritual direction program.
