Liturgical and Kerygmatic Catechesis for Children (IMTH-780)

This course provides an overview of a spiritual formation experience for children ages two to twelve years old based on the belief that young children can and do experience God. Revolving around Scripture and Liturgy, the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) model is built upon an understanding of the dignity of the child and an evidenced pattern of development. Central to the catechesis is a well-formed adult and a special environment created to nurture the child’s spirituality with beautiful materials that focus the child’s attention on key scripture passages or liturgical moments.

This course highlights how CGS explores the main message of Jesus — The Kingdom God – what is it, how we live in it, how we celebrate it.
