Dr. Courtney Minerd, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist who received her doctorate from Ball State University. She grew up in the greater Pittsburgh area, attended college at Saint Vincent in Latrobe, and is delighted to call Western Pennsylvania home. Dr. Minerd works with children, families and adults. She has completed years of training in hospital settings and regularly works with families who are adapting to a chronic illness or other medical concern. She employs a mix of cognitive-behavioral and family-systems perspectives when working with adults and couples. Play therapy techniques are integrated in her work with children. In addition to therapy, Dr. Minerd also offers a range of assessment and psychological testing services.
In the IMF’s Spiritual Direction program, Dr. Minerd teaches Psychology for Spiritual Directors where she introduces students to the foundational models in psychology and helps students in understanding challenges and issues of directees, utilizing techniques for inquiry and healthy introspection.
