Dr. Timothy Heck

Faculty

Dr. Timothy Heck presently serves as assistant professor, School of Behavioral Sciences, at Liberty University, Lynchburg, Virginia. There, he teaches Integration of Spirituality and Counseling, Theology and Spirituality, as well as topics on marriage, families and child and adolescent development. He also served as an adjunct professor in the Ecclesial Lay Ministry Program at Saint Joseph College, Rensselaer, Indiana, teaching Old Testament, New Testament and The Word of God. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in Christian ministries from Cincinnati Christian University; a master of arts degree in Old Testament from Cincinnati Christian Seminary; a master of arts in counseling psychology from Denver Theological Seminary and a doctor of philosophy degree in human services from Capella University.

Previous experience includes serving as assistant professor, College of Counseling, Psychology and Social Sciences, Argosy University, Orange, California and adjunct professor, Indiana Wesleyan University, Indianapolis, Indiana.

Dr. Heck’s dissertation was entitled “Sacred Healing of Marriage: A Quasi-Experimental Study of Prayer’s Effect on Marital Satisfaction Among Catholic and Protestant Christians.”

His books include A 40-Day Journey of Prayer for Your Marriage (2019), Sacred Healing of Marriage (2018), A Liturgy for Marriage (2017), and others. He has made appearances on Relevant Radio, and given presentations throughout the country.

He is a licensed marriage and family therapist, a licensed social worker and a certified domestical relations mediator, all in the state of Indiana. He is also founder and president of Outpatient Professional Therapy Center.
