Director
Father Boniface Hicks, O.S.B., has been a monk of Saint Vincent Archabbey since 1998. He has been involved with WAOB (We Are One Body) radio station, Latrobe, since its formation in 2010, presently serving as program director. Father Boniface authored the book Through the Heart of St. Joseph, and co-authored, along with Father Thomas Acklin, O.S.B., the books Spiritual Direction: A Guide for Sharing the Father’s Love, and Personal Prayer: A Guide for Receiving the Father’s Love all published by Emmaus Road Publishing. Most recently, Sophia Institute Press published his book The Fruit of her Womb.
He has a bachelor of science degree in computer science and a master of science degree in computer science from Penn State University, where he was a member of the Tau Beta Pi Honor Fraternity and the Penn State Newman Club. He earned a master of arts degree in 2003, and a master of divinity degree in 2004 from Saint Vincent Seminary, summa cum laude.
He was ordained a deacon in 2003, and a priest in 2004. Following ordination, he returned to Penn State, where he completed his Ph.D. in computer science in 2007. While at Penn State, he was an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and campus minister at Penn State Catholic Center.
Upon his return to Saint Vincent, he served as a faculty member at Saint Vincent College (2007-2011); associate director of spiritual formation (2015) then director of spiritual life (2016-present), adjunct faculty member (2017-present) and director for alumni affairs (2017-present) at Saint Vincent Seminary. In April 2023, he completed his Licentiate in Sacred Theology (STL) degree in the New Evangelization at Sacred Heart Seminary in Detroit, Michigan.
He is a sought-after retreat master and spiritual director, traveling throughout the United States, and as far as Beijing, China, in his work.
